AuditionThe Bell Tower Theater is always looking for talented individuals for our productions. If you act, sing or play an instrument, let us know, and maybe next time we'll see you on the stage. These are not volunteer positions; all actors at the Bell Tower Theater are paid. It's not a lot of money, but we believe that artists should be compensated for their time and talent. Audition Monologues: Each auditioner is asked to prepare a 2-3 minute comedic monologue. Samples are posted here but auditioners are free to prepare any comedic monologue of their choice. ***Auditioners may be asked to do a cold read or improv exercise as well.
Rehearsals: The Bell Tower Theater typically rehearses Sunday afternoons and Monday-Thursday evenings but no dates or times are set in stone. Final rehearsal schedules will be determined in part by the availability of cast members. See each show below for anticipated rehearsal start dates.
Performances: See the listing below for details on dates. Performer call time is typically 90 minutes prior to the start of the performance.
Payment: All Bell Tower Theater actors are paid. For 2023 the stipend is $40 per performance. All of these shows have 11 performances so the stipend will be $440.

The Kids Left. The Dog Died. Now What? By Carole Caplan-Lonner August 11 to 27, 2023 Director: Sue Riedel Music Director: Terry Dillon Anticipated Rehearsal Start Date: June 26, 2023 A comedic salute to those struggling with the effects of gravity on their bodies, of grandchildren on their self-images and of the dating scene on their egos. This laugh-out-loud musical follows the day-to-day concerns of the over-fifty “empty-nesters” crowd, where the ultimate goal is aging gracefully.
Roles: Two men and two women who can play 50s.

Drinking Habits 2: Caught in the Act By Tom Smith October 13 to 29, 2023 Director: Sue Riedel Anticipated Rehearsal Start Date: September 5, 2023 The Sisters of Perpetual Sewing pine for the excitement of the past when their secret wine making was saving the convent and bringing lost loves back together. When they discover that the local orphanage is in peril of closing, they resolve to act. Everyone pitches in to mount a play to raise money and hilarious hijinks ensue. Anything that can go wrong does. Can the sisters save the day again?

A Doublewide, Texas Christmas by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope & Jamie Wooten, December 1 to 17, 2023 Director: Sue Riedel Anticipated Rehearsal Start Date: October 23, 2023 Somewhere in the Texas heartland, lies the brand new town of Doublewide – Population, 10. It’s Christmas time, and it’s beginning to look a lot like trouble. Doublewide is being double crossed by the county and might lose their status as a town. Maybe if they win the countywide “Battle of The Mangers,” their Christmas will be saved.
