Free Summer Musical Program

High School Show

We are very pleased to announce that we will be moving forward with a High School Show in 2021! Due to the difficulties of performing musicals safely on our small stage right now, we will be presenting our first play.

This information is preliminary, please check back regularly for updates.

The show will be

The Bell Tower Theater’s Eight-Annual High School Show is open to kids in 8th through 12th grades during the 2020-2021 school year.

About the Show

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) is a wacky, zany, hilarious comedy with all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays performed (in comedically shortened or merged form) in just over 90 minutes. All of the actors will play multiple parts. There is no fourth wall, with actors often speaking directly to the audience. Audience participation is included so no two performances will be alike. Excerpts from this play are frequently used in high school speech contests.

Audition Dates

Friday, March 26 from 4 pm to 7 pm and Saturday, March 27 from 1 pm to 4 pm

Callbacks (by invitation only, if necessary) Sunday, March 28 from 5:30-7:30

COVID Protocols

In order to make this production as safe as possible for participants, adult helpers and audiences, numerous safety protocols will be in place, including but not limited to: masks will be required for all rehearsals and performances; cast will be limited to just 8 people on stage at one time; cleaning procedures will be enhanced and social distance seating will be used for all performances.

Cast

  • We anticipate casting eight students for each of two casts, for a total of 16. Each cast will perform 4 times. Schedule will be posted at a later date.
  • Auditioners should come to the Bell Tower on either March 26th or 27th at the designated times. Appointments are not necessary.
  • Auditioners are asked to prepare a short comedic Shakespearean monologue. A complete database of Shakespeare’s monologues can be found at www.Shakespeare-monologues.org.
  • For a faster audition complete the form before you arrive. Find the form here. When filling out your form, please list all possible conflicts. Use the tentative rehearsal calendar for reference.
